This kinda puts a twist on things really, because it means you need the gasoline to start with, but it is a step in the right direction. I look at this kinda like slave labor. Back when people had slaves, they had to feed and house their slaves in order to get work out of them. Well, it seemed like the best way to do it, but then finally someone broke the precedent and realized it was wrong (Lincoln rings a bell.. the president, no the car :), and made it illegal. Well, that's when sharecropping was born. It was MUCH better. The slaves were freed and were 'leased' a plot of land that they would crop and make their own living, but had to pay the land owners for use of the land. Now the property owners didn't have to support them, the same work still got done and people were free. This is analogous (IMO) to the fuel cell at its current stage of development as it still requires gasoline to work, but it is a much more efficient way of getting power with NO harmful emissions. : fuel cell technology and research. He may have changed his ways, or realized the political incorrectness of his actions.
: BTW, the technology is there, that is correct, but seeing it under the hood of a car...about 3 years out. It's not the technology that's slow, its integrating it into the infrastructure of the country. Where can you go and fill up your whip with some hydrogen? No where. How can you store it safely in your car. There is no way. Yet. Someday it will be there, making it easy to use a fuel cell car and save the world one by one, but not any time soon.
